Niagra Falls Wedding Photographer Tips for the Honeymoon Capital of the World

 Niagara Falls Skyline

At one point, it really was the honeymoon capital of the world, now it’s slowly becoming a hotspot for weddings. The nice thing is that it is no longer just Niagara Falls, but rather the entire Niagara Region itself. I’ll do my best to break this down for you into the area’s associated with most weddings.

To start let’s pick a location to host the venue. Niagara Falls has many hotels to choose from which almost all have banquet facilities capable of hosting large scale weddings. I will let you do you own research on these locations. I do however recommend either The Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview as the Fallsview Casino will allow you to shoot inside on rainy days, and also the Doubletree as the interior again is amazing for Niagara Falls wedding photography if the weather becomes inclement. The Town of Niagara On the Lake is a quaint little area catering to more of a historic feel for there locations. Vintage Inns offers three hotels all of which are absolutely stunning. In St. Catharines the Quality Hotel & Convention center can hold up to 900 guests for one function and is centrally located within the city. Nestled among the rest of the region you will find a few other places to host your event as well. Balls Falls conservation area has a church and barn that can accommodate up to 150 guests, as well as the beautiful surroundings that make amazing pictures. John Michael’s Banquet facility puts on a great show as well, the staff and food is top notch, Big John will not disappoint. In Jordan you will find the Inn on the Twenty, with a boutique hotel on site and the feel of a small little town, your guests will certainly be impressed after visiting here.

I feel that the Wineries & Golf courses in Niagara somewhat deserve their own little section. The wineries, so many to choose from and they are all great places to host a wedding. My personal favorites are Eastdell, Hernder Estates, Vineland Estates, Peller Estates, & Hillebrand Estates. Golf in Niagara has also evolved into a large tourist industry in the last few years, and they definitely cashed in on the wedding side of things as well. Some local course’s that are absolutely beautiful to have the big day at include Twenty Valley, Legends on the Niagara, Peninsula Lakes, & Royal Niagara.

Looking for a dress in Niagara, well tere are three places you need to check out. First on the list, and we’ll go alphabetical to be fair would be Devine Designs. Located in St. Catharines they carry a beautiful selection of top designer wedding gowns at exceptional prices as well as a fine collection of bridesmaid dresses, mother’s gowns, tiaras, headpieces, veils, and jewelry. Next up Marilee’s Bridal in Fonthill, offering a full service bridal salon for all your wedding needs. Finally, weddings Heidi’s Style located again in St. Catharines. Heidi carries many dresses in her downtown location, ranging from contemporary & traditional to the hottest trends on the market.

Every wedding needs two things, amazing cakes and gorgeous flowers. When it comes to cakes, there is only one place in Niagara to go, Sweet Rage. These girls are amazing at what they do, they have put together some of the most amazing and outrageous cakes I have ever seen. On top of that their personalities are so great, you don’t ever want to leave the store. When it comes to flowers, there are many places to shop in Niagara, but again, only one gets my nod. Creations by Helen are absolutely top notch. Long story short, on my wedding day they could not get the flowers they ordered for my wife’s bouquet to open, they ended up scouring the city and knocking on doors until finally a local resident came through. That is what I consider to be true customer service.

While Flowers and Cakes make everything look pretty, it’s the cool limos and great music that people remember. Many people these days are starting to opt for different modes of transportation to and from the wedding. Premier Limousine offers a variety of rides to get you there in style, ranging from a red Porsche, to stretched Ford Excursions, and also a 24 passenger party bus. If you are looking for something a little different than the standards, try Niagara Classic Cars. They have 4 Rolls Royce Silver Clouds & 4 Royal Daimler in their fleet. Still not doing it for you, GTA Exotics, with stretched Hummers, Vette’s, Ferrari’s, Lambo’s & Vipers on hand you’re sure to find something. So now that you are arriving in style, you have to get the party jumping. Spirit of Sound based out of Thorold will definitely get your guests up and dancing. They offer DJ’s for everyone, from the classics to the club style, whatever you want, they’ll spin it.
